Rooted in historic routes once commissioned by England’s kings, the Great West Way® connects grand houses, gardens, market towns, waterways and villages, inviting travelers not simply to pass through, but to linger.
Begin in Hampshire among the restorative fields, farm-to-table rhythms and quietly cultivated beauty of Heckfield Place. Continue into Wiltshire for the ease of country-estate life at Lucknam Park: mornings that stretch, afternoons shaped around a spa treatment, an old village, or a private lesson in horseback riding, and evenings left to unfold as they please.

Days 1-3
Hampshire A Different Kind of Country House Stay
The journey begins at Heckfield Place, where Georgian architecture, contemporary design and the rhythms of the estate come together in the Hampshire countryside.
This is a place worth arriving slowly.
Time here is intentionally light: settle into the estate, explore the grounds, enjoy the Bothy Spa and experience food shaped by Heckfield’s own Home Farm. The first days of the journey are less about rushing outward and more about allowing England to come into focus.

Days 4-7
Wiltshire & the Cotswolds
History, Villages and Room to Wander
From Hampshire, your private driver-guide carries you west to Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, a country estate surrounded by 500 of acres near the Wiltshire–Cotswolds border.
This becomes your base for exploring one of the richest parts of the Great West Way without changing hotels every night.
Historic Bath, ancient landscapes, gardens, villages and private local experiences can all be woven into the stay but not all at once.
One morning may be devoted to a signature experience. The afternoon may be entirely yours.
Another day may lead into Bath for its Georgian architecture and Roman heritage, followed by a return to the quiet of the estate rather than another suitcase and another hotel.
Days 8-11
London
A Mayfair Finale
The countryside gives way to London, but the pace does not need to change.
