Italy’s Quiet Adriatic Heart|M A R C H E
Between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, Le Marche brings together Renaissance cities, walled hill towns, vineyard landscapes, and a coast shaped by cliffs, coves, and long stretches of beach.
Here, Italy unfolds at a more personal pace. Atmosphère Travel Co. designs journeys shaped around local artisans and producers, seasonal food and wine, historic countryside stays, and the kinds of experiences that reveal a region from the inside out.

Le Marche, From Mountains to Sea
Between the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic shore lies a region of walled hill towns, thermal springs, pilgrimage sites, vineyards, and a coastline marked by cliffs, coves, and long quiet stretches of beach.
Le Marche is best experienced with time and intention. Its places are not gathered into one compact circuit; the pleasure is in the space between them—the changing landscape, the small discoveries, and the freedom to move at a more unhurried pace.
Explore the map to discover a selection of the towns, landscapes, and coastal places that shape an Atmosphère Le Marche journey. This is not a checklist to complete. It is a starting point for choosing the places that will feel most meaningful to you.
Custom Journey Design
Thoughtfully paced journeys shaped around your interests, preferred rhythm, and the particular corners of Le Marche you want to experience from inland hill towns to the Adriatic coast.
Local Immersion
Artisan-led experiences, regional culinary traditions, truffle outings when in season, and wine visits that bring you closer to the people, craft, and landscape of Le Marche.
Characterful Stays
Restored palazzi, historic countryside estates, intimate hotels, and coastal retreats selected for their setting, comfort, and genuine connection to the region.
THE MARITIME PAIRING
Extend a Le Marche journey with an intimate Adriatic voyage—where the rhythm of the countryside gives way to coastal cities, island landscapes, and life at sea.
Through preferred partners including Atlas Ocean Voyages and Ponant, Atmosphère Travel Co. can pair a considered land stay with a small-ship or yacht-style sailing selected around your preferred pace, season, and ports of interest.
From the Italian coast to Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, and beyond, the Adriatic offers a beautifully complementary second chapter: unpack once, settle into an ocean-view suite, and let each new harbor bring a different landscape into view.
For clients who prefer to travel with less luggage in hand, optional independent luggage-forwarding information is available through our Luggage Forward partner page.
The Marche Portfolio
The properties below are a small, hand-vetted selection from the wider Atmosphère Le Marche collection.
Le Marche’s hospitality landscape is defined less by international luxury brands than by independent hotels, restored estates, wellness retreats, and characterful coastal stays. Each property is considered for far more than its photographs: setting, everyday comfort, service, privacy, access, and the particular type of journey it supports.
Whether the right stay is a quiet countryside retreat, a historic borgo, or a hotel by the Adriatic, we select the property that best suits the traveler, season, and rhythm of the itinerary.
1. Hotel Excelsior Spa And Lido (Pesaro, Le Marche)
The atmosphere: A 52-room, five-star boutique hotel on Pesaro’s seafront, shaped by the relaxed glamour of 1950s American East Coast beach culture. The experience is intimate, polished, and distinctly coastal rather than grand or formal.
Why we would recommend it: For travelers who want a refined Adriatic base with beach access, wellness, and the ease of being close to Pesaro’s historic center. The hotel’s private Lido includes loungers, umbrellas, private cabins, hot tubs, and two lounge areas; the hotel describes it as the only private Lido Beach Club attached to a hotel on the Adriatic Riviera of Le Marche.
Wellness: The Spa Excelsior offers a heated relaxation pool, Finnish sauna, Hammam, fitness facilities, and treatment options. This is a strong choice for guests who want restorative time by the sea, but spa access and timing should be confirmed before booking.
Especially well suited to: Solo travelers, couples, coastal extensions, and guests who prefer an intimate hotel with a beach-club feeling over a large resort.
2. Relais Benessere Borgo Lanciano (Castelraimondo)
The atmosphere: A wellness-focused countryside retreat set among restored stone buildings and landscaped grounds near Castelraimondo. Its albergo diffuso-style layout gives the stay a more dispersed, village-like rhythm rather than the feeling of a single traditional hotel building.
Why we would recommend it: For travelers who want genuine downtime built into an inland Le Marche itinerary. The property’s Kimben Spa spans more than 2,000 square meters and includes a heated indoor pool with whirlpool stations, wellness facilities, a SpaGym, and treatment spaces.
Wellness: The spa experience includes a sauna, Turkish bath, emotional showers, relaxation areas, and a range of treatments and massages. Spa access is limited to guests aged 16 and over, which makes the central wellness areas particularly suited to an adult-focused retreat. 1051
Especially well suited to: Wellness-minded solo travelers, couples seeking an unhurried reset, and clients who want a restorative inland base between hill towns, food and wine experiences, and the Sibillini area.

Many of the region’s most characterful stays are independent estates, restored country houses, intimate wellness retreats, and privately managed villas, each suited to a different style of journey, season, and traveler.
Rather than presenting a long list of properties, we recommend the stays that best reflect how you want your time in Le Marche to feel: coastal and restorative, wine-led and rural, quietly historic, or deeply immersed in the landscape.
